Mindfulness Based Living Course (MBLC)
Mindfulness is an innate capacity of the mind to be aware of the present moment in a non-judgmental way. It can be developed through systematic training and promotes a way of being that helps us take better care of ourselves and others, and lead healthier lives. It enables us to access inner resources for coping effectively with stress, difficulty and illness.
The course offered has been developed by the Mindfulness Association in conjunction with the University of Aberdeen and is affiliated to the UK Network for Mindfulness Based Teacher Training Organisation. The teaching in this Course adheres to the Mindfulness UK Good Practice Guidelines.
The MBLC is an introduction to the foundations of Mindfulness, which is suitable for beginners and for those who already have a Mindfulness practice. It introduces all core Mindfulness practices, while moving towards cultivating kindness.
About the Course:
Throughout the course participants will be taught progressive skills in Mindfulness through presentations, guided practice, reflection and periods of inquiry. A strong emphasis is placed on experiential learning, and for this reason there are weekly home assignments that include regular mindfulness practice, daily life exercises and reflections, all based on practices covered during each of the weekly sessions.
Format of the Course:
The course begins with a two-hour Introductory session, followed by 8 consecutive weekly sessions, each lasting two hours, with a further two hour “follow-up” session a few weeks after the course has concluded. In addition and most usually between weeks 6 and 7 of the course, an optional full day of practice is available (10.00am – 4.00pm), and provides a wonderful opportunity for participants to take some time out from our busy lives while helping to consolidate the practices, experiences and insights that may have been gained over preceding weeks.
The Course comprises 26 hours in total. A comprehensive workbook and audio support materials are also provided on a weekly basis.
£175 in total, (with a £75 booking fee payable in advance). A late cancellation fee of £25 (within 1 week of course start date), may apply.
Payment by instalments is also possible and a few concessionary places may also be available. For Registration Form and further information please contact below:
